[UPDATE] Skyecaller PRO Now Offers RCP Tones!
If you read my review of Skyecaller PRO earlier this week or had a chance to check out this awesome app, you know that Skyecaller PRO users can now download great free content right from their device. You may have also noticed that there were free images and video ringtones available, but no audio ringtones!
Well a few days before that, I also posted an update about the awesome new Recording Productions website rcptones.com that features tons of the best high-quality ringtones available. Hmmm… Where might I be going with this?
That’s right, Skyecaller PRO users now have access to a variety of free high-quality audio ringtones created by Recording Productions!

Skyestream and Recording Productions are two truly enthusiastic creative bodies and I for one couldn’t be happier that they have found each other.

[INFO] IVCM Version 2.0 Now Available
Normally I wouldn’t just post a simple update like this, but Interactive Voice Call Master by Mobisophy is one of the several apps that I just couldn’t live without on my N80IE. Version 2.0 has brought on some great updates and some much-needed changes so I wanted to make a quick post about it. For those who have not tried it, IVCM is the most feature-rich call management utility currently available for S60 3rd devices. I am constantly switching between IVCM and Advanced Call Manager by Webgate. Each app has a variety of features that set it part from the other and both are well worth looking into. The basic idea of a call manager though, is to handle your incoming calls in accordance with lists, time-schedules, etc. To better explain, here is one example of how I use IVCM on a daily basis:
I use the automatic scheduling feature within IVCM. So from 7am - 10:59pm each day, IVCM is set to “not handle” (accept all) calls. Then every night from 11pm - 6:59am, IVCM will only allow incoming calls from a number on my “white list” (family, close friends, etc). If I receive a call from any mobile number in my contact list that isn’t in my white list, the call is rejected and IVCM automatically sends them an SMS from a template that I created. Any call from a number that isn’t on either of those lists will be auto-muted by IVCM and will go to voicemail. Pretty cool!
I’m not sure if there is a complete change log floating around somewhere for IVCM version 2.0, but here are some of the more important changes that I’ve noticed since I upgraded from 1.5x:
RAM Consumption - Whereas the old version of IVCM chewed on about 1.2MB of my precious RAM, IVCM nibbles on a much more reasonable 205Kb.

Graphics - My high-resolution display absolutely despises bitmap icons and I’m glad that Mobisophy figured that out! IVCM now uses only SVG graphics within the UI.

No-Beep Recording & Adjustable Playback Volume - IVCM now supports no-beep call recording and no-beep voice message recording. You can also adjust playback volume from within the app rather than having to rely on the volume setting within your active profile.

I realize that this is not a full review but I do recommend that you check this app out and take advantage of IVCM’s 7-day/30-call free trial. To be perfectly honest, there are just too many features in IVCM for me to take the time to review right now. If there is interest of course, I’ll try to get a full review up next week.

Skyecaller PRO by Skyestream
About a month ago I reviewed a great app called Skyecaller and as much as I loved it I have to admit that I stopped using it shortly after that review. Why, you might ask? Well it’s not because I stopped liking the app, it was simply due to the fact that Skyestream contacted me shortly thereafter to tell me about Skyecaller PRO!
The difference between the two versions is not small by any means and this is also not simply a combination of two popular Skyestream apps (Skyecaller & Skyetones). Beyond displaying fullscreen caller/messager images Skyecaller PRO implements video ringtones, audio ringtone management, some additional new functionality (such as the ability to assign images/videos/ringtones to a contact OR to a profile), and an entirely new menu/operation structure that I simply love! Beyond all that, Skyecaller PRO gives you the ability to quickly and easily download content using menu options within the app that initiate the integrated S60 3rd browser and link directly to the appropriate Skyestream content page. So let’s have a look, shall we?
The default point of entry in the new Skyecaller PRO now displays the four main categories within the app, rather than your contact list.

This is important to note because it leads into the menu/operation restructuring that I mentioned above. Whereas Skyecaller’s order of operation is Browse Contact List -> Select Contact -> Browse Images -> Select Image, Skyecaller PRO uses the more logical progression of Browse Desired Multimedia Content -> Select Content -> Browse Contact List -> Select Contact. Now you can browse through each image/video/ringtone and quickly and easily assign it to each contact that you desire.

It’s also just as quick and easy to assign an image/video/ringtone to a profile if so desired.

Skyecaller PRO also gives you the option to browse your Contact list and your Profile list. This allows you to quickly and easily clear any Contact/Profile content without having to do a lot of searching.

The last major enhancement in this app that I’ll cover is the ability to download content. At the top of each section (main menu, images list, videos list, ringtones list) you will now find a Download option. Select Download from the main menu and the S60 3rd browser will open the main Skyecaller PRO content download page. Select Download from any of the three submenus and you will be brought directly to the download page for the relevant content type. Below you can see that I selected Download on the Video Clips screen so my browser opened right to the Skyecaller PRO Videos download page.

This is a new service for Skyestream so there isn’t a tremendous amount of downloadable content yet. The bonus however is that all of the preliminary content is available to Skyecaller PRO users for free!
To quickly summarize, Skyecaller PRO still has all of the important features that we know and love from Skyecaller and adds loads of additional useful functionality. Skyestream is not only offering a free trial of Skyecaller PRO, but they are also offering a limited-time 10% discount if you purchase from their online shop! Skyestream is a developer that continues to impress me and they have a lot planned for the coming months. If you’ve ever used one of their apps then it’s no mystery why they currently have two apps on the Nokia Software Market’s top-10 best selling list. Definitely keep an eye on Skyestream!

[UPDATE] Normal (Ringing) Ringtones
Brendan from Recording Productions has kindly posted a comment in my post about normal-sounding ringtones letting us know that RecPro now has a site dedicated exclusively to ringtones! Visit the new site and you’ll find a whole bunch of new ringtones from RecPro along with some old favorites. All of the tones are logically separated into categories and you can easily and quickly preview every tone on the site.

So what are you waiting for? Check out the new rcptones site and say NO to people blasting N’Sync and Kanye West ringtones!
;)
