Welcome to Symbian in Motion!
Well the votes are all in and the readers have decided - the new name of my blog is “Symbian in Motion”!!!
I really hope that my comments following the original post didn’t sway anybody but this was certainly my first and favorite choice. Why is this name my first choice? To quote myself:
“Symbian is a phenomenal platform as we all agree, but why is it so great? In my mind, it’s the versatility and the amazing developers that program for it. Symbian itself is great, but the apps and the ever-evolving functionalities are what really allow the user to get the most out of their device. [Pause for cheesy tie-in…] They put Symbian in motion.”
Actually, I’m a bit fortunate that the voting turned out this way. I was in the process of simply renaming my blog to Symbian in Motion (I had already registered the domain!) when I decided to hold this competition instead. I wasn’t too worried though - I registered through Go Daddy so it was pretty cheap… ;)
With regards to how this will affect my blog - no worries! None of the URLs will be changing (although if you visit www.SymbianInMotion.com you will be forwarded here). You will notice though that the color scheme and graphics have changed. I hope you like it! I thought it would be nice to mark the occasion with a face lift, so to speak. What do you guys think?
Lastly, there is a winner of the $50 Handango.com gift certificate and he/she will be announced shortly! Why not now? Well right now all I have is an email address and I would surely never post that here. Once I have a name (and permission to post it) I will announce him/her. I’m sorry if you weren’t selected as the winner but I appreciate everyone’s vote and can’t wait to hold my next contest!
Once again, thanks to all of my readers and I hope that you all stick with me as this blog continues to expand and cover new areas surrounding the world of Symbian.

BTW I'm totally digging the colour scheme, hopefully there may be a theme coming in celebration of the the new name? ;)

It sounds like RESEARCH IN MOTION..
It would be a good thing. Nokia, SonyEricsson, LG, Samsung, Motorola, collapsing BlackBerry with their smartphones...
