Font Magnifier by Psiloc
Time and time again I see users post on various forums about difficulties seeing the small fonts on most S60 3rd devices. I personally happen to have very good eyesight for objects close to me but even still, I sometimes find it a bit straining to read some things on my device’s display. The ability to change the font on S60 3rd has recently been revisiteded by Darla and while some fonts provide better visibility, they aren’t necessarily larger and don’t always solve this problem (it sure is fun to change them and check out new fonts on your device though :) ).
This is the very reason that I love Symbian though. If enough people have a problem, you can be sure that a great developer will come to the rescue with a solution! That’s just what Psiloc has done with their new app Font Magnifier. As the name of the app suggests, Font Magnifier allows the user to increase the size of the display fonts on S60 3rd devices.
Simply put, this app could not be easier to use. Font Magnifier gives you the ability to fine tune the size of your font with individual sliders for each of the three font categories. The sliders increase/decrease in value in very small increments so you can really fine-tune your font size to your exact preference.

As you make changes to your font size, you can quickly and easily preview the adjusted font to see what it will look like once the changes are applied.

Once everything looks to be in order, simply select Options -> Apply to make your changes. Because all of the fonts need to be refreshed, an on-screen notification instructs you to reboot your device in order for your fonts to be resized.
Once you have changed your font sizes, no need to worry if they’re not exactly the size you want them to be. You can easily go back into the app and make further adjustments or simply select Restore Default to start over with the original font sizes.

And now for your viewing pleasure, here are a few before and after shots:

As you can see, the browser font size is affected as well so you no longer need to worry about zooming in and out!
This app does exactly what it needs to do and it does it quite well, giving the user complete control over font sizes and the ability to make even the slightest adjustments for fine tuning. Really the only thing I can say about this app that isn’t purely positive is that I would like to see a future version include an automatic restart function by way of a confirmation screen once your adjustments are applied. This is by no means a show stopper though - I mean how hard is it to hold down a button?! Check out the free demo for yourself but all in all, this app is going to make a lot of S60 3rd users happy and we can finally stop squinting while using our devices!

First of all THANKS to all of you :-)
In future version, i'm going to update sliders with font names to something more useful. e.g. Messaging fonts , Menu fonts e.t.c.
Your feed back regarding which fonts are used in which applications would be really helpful. New ideas are also welcome.
Thanks

The DRM issue really is no mystery. As we all know, it has nothing to do with trusting potential customers but instead is a measure taken to prevent theft facilitated by particular groups, which we all know is rampant. The DRM solution that Psiloc employs has worked quite well to this point and I'm sure that they have made a fair investment in it. As such, there is no reason to ditch it.
In terms of trying before you buy, there is a free trial/demo period of 14 days (I believe it's 14) with this app. Is it not working properly for you. Psiloc's support team is pretty responsive and I'm sure that they would be glad to help you with your troubles if you contact them.
Thx :)

Last night an alarm woke me up at 2am! I found that after I formatted my phone a few days ago and resynced all of my calendar entries from Outlook, all of the alarm times were messed up! So I took an hour to fix them all - and now I have to go through that PIA again today after upgrading... :(

At any rate, you'll also experience better battery performance if you install such apps on your phone memory.

Is there anyway to introduce a new Unicode font in a mobile?

As far as your question is concerned, I think that your best bet with finding an answer will be on forum.nokia.com - where the developers play. ;)
Hope that helps!
