Symbian in Motion

[UPDATE] TimeBar v1.50 build0707 by the3sky

The3sky has just released an updated version of TimeBar that has a few nice changes along with some work in progress. If you haven’t read my previous review of TimeBar, basically this is an app that display the current time on all screens (not just standby) and can play announcements (alarms) every hour.

The author has taken into account the fact that Symbian Signed has cut off public developer certificates, and has included a self-signed version along with the standard unsigned version. While functionality in the self-signed version is a bit limited (no auto-start), it’s better than nothing for those of you who haven’t had the chance to obtain a developer certificate.

If you do have a developer certificate, of course you should follow this guide (or similar) to sign the unsigned version of this app.

There is no ‘official’ change log, but here’s what I’ve got so far:

  • 12-hour clock support (woo hoo!)
  • integrated audible hour announcements with individual selection option
  • transparency (doesn’t work well, author is working on it)
  • restructuring of Options menu

This new build refreshes changes automatically (every minute I believe) but to apply your changes immediately go to Options -> End console and then Options -> Start console.

Enjoy!
