US HSDPA N95 is Officially Announced!
As I’m sure you’ve already read, Symbian has officially announced the upcoming US HSDPA version of the Nokia N95! US users have been screaming for more attention for as long as I can remember and this device is a big leap in Nokia’s US push.
Thanks to Dan Shugrue and the rest of the S60 marketing team behind the S60 Agent Pilot program, I received a prototype of this new device in the mail last week and I have to say that I’m quite impressed with it after a few days of playing. Beyond the addition of US HSDPA support (which I’ve tested consistently around 1Mbps!) this device packs a few more improvements that N95 lovers won’t be able to live without. How about 80MB+ of free RAM for example?!?

Other great features include A-GPS, support for a larger battery, 160MB of internal memory, and more. There will be a lot more coming here on SiMo with regards to this device including a complete and thorough review. The device is expected to start shipping by the end of this month so US users don’t have to wait much longer!

The camera interface is still devastatingly slow - I suppose for the time being that's the price to be paid for a Nokia with a 5mpxl camera...

Well I don't want to make any promises because I do have a lot on my plate right now but I'm hoping to get it done before I leave for the Nokia event next Thurday.
To comment on a few things that you mentioned, I would expect a price point well under $1,000. With the iPhone price having just dropped Nokia would be stupid to come out that high. My guess is that it'll be closer to $699 max. Also, keep in mind that eBay is going to be FLOODED with old N95s once the new one is released. If you have a back up phone you should try to sell it ASAP to get as much as possible for it.
That said, if you love the N95, use AT&T;, and have the $$ to spare you will most definitely want to purchase the new variant. In my playing so far it does nothing but improve on the old model (aside from cosmetic issues which may be unique to the prototype). More RAM, more internal storage, US HSDPA, more responsive media buttons, and better battery. :)
