N95 8GB is in Stock at NYC Flagship Store

Oddly, I don’t remember putting my name on any list but I just got a call from the NYC Flagship store. The nice woman on the other end of the phone (I didn’t catch her name) informed me that the N95 8GB is now in stock and available on a first come, first serve basis. If you’re in the area and looking to pick one up, I wouldn’t rush. At a price point of $778 I don’t think that it will quite be jumping off of the shelves. It is one damn smooth-looking device though! :)
On a semi-related note, I was happy to also learn that www.mobilecityonline.com FINALLY has stock of the newer BL-6F batteries. I have one in the mail right now to accompany my two BL-5Fs and if you’re looking for a bit of backup juice, I recommend you head on over in a hurry as I doubt they’ll last.

No Nokia - or any mobile that I know of actually - is compatible with both US and Euro HSDPA networks unfortunately.

Has anyone tried Sony Ericsson P1i and how does it compare with N95? I hear that it is capable of VoIP as well.

As for the P1i, its lack of 850 band has prevented me from trying it at all as I need that band with AT&T; here in the US. Looks like a nice phone, although people generally either love or hate UIQ.

6GB cards are cheap and 8GB cards are now available, so it really comes down to the look of the phone and the size of the screen (2.6" for the N95-3, 2.8" for the 8GB). I definitely prefer the look of the 8GB, but I decided that 3G is a luxury I didn't want to give up. I don't even enable 3G that much but it's nice to have the option of streaming my Slingbox, media etc wherever I am.
