Nokia N81 8GB Special Edition Landed!
I was informed by WOMWorld a few days ago there would be a package arriving. I knew it was going to be the Nokia N81 8GB coming, but was told it would be something special. So there I was expecting something mediocre, some sort of tacky “Special Edition” gimmick to arrive. Once it had arrived and I opened it…I found a circular tube looking thing. First impressions I thought, this looks like a waste bin! It was round, black and looked just like a waste bin. Someone is playing a prank on me I thought to myself, until I opened it…
On the top of the first box it had the words “a little hush please… the next episode is about to begin.” I pulled up the top box to find myself looking at what first looked like a hologram of the N81 8GB. Wow! I soon figured it was a semi-transparent picture with lights built into the inner part of the tube to highlight the graphic, nice!
Removing the next box / tube revealed the main attraction! There sat the Nokia N81 8GB walled within a pair of Bose QuietComfort 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones. A great presentation to WOW the customer, and it does a great job I must say.

The N81 8Gb came with the usual accessories as listed on the Nokia website, headphones, manual, charger and a mini-USB cable. The Bose headphones came with a carry bag that had a wall socket charger for the rechargeable batteries (x2) supplied and in addition more sockets you’ll know what to do with!
For the next 2 weeks I’ll be playing around with the N81 8GB paired with the headphones. If you have any questions or requests you’d like me to try out please leave a message in the comments or just shout me an e-mail on abul [at] mobile9 [dot] com.
I’ll leave you with some pictures after the initial unboxing until I can give a better opinion of the handset and headphones.

so.. my question.. how is the overal speed of the n81.. is it quick, does it work its way through the menu quick? and how about the memory slot speed. I often realize that this is a critical point for loading apps aswell. so.. please let me know :)
