SONY ERICSSON C902: Snap this up
With the arrival of the C902, the nightmare that was the K850i can be confined to the memory A lot of handsets are little more than facelifts of earlier models, making it difficult to find much to write about, but there's no such problems with the K850i Cyber-shot follow-up, the C902. The K850i had massive problems at launch towards the end of last year, meaning the C902 was held back until the firmware was totally up to scratch; a very wise move. [Read]

Sony Ericsson C702 rugged handset
The C702's moniker might give the impression that it's a stripped-down version of the 5mp camera-toting C902. But while it shares some features, the C702 is very much its own model. For a start, it's pitched as a rugged, outdoorsy sort of handset, with protection against dust and moisture. While we wouldn't recommend dunking it in a highland tarn - we resisted the temptation to try it ourselves; Sony Ericsson knows where we live - there are a few elements that mark it out as tougher than most. Nokia vs Apple in The Internet Mobile Device Market
We've been as excited as everyone else about the iPhone 3G. But it's easy to forget that the iphone is just a tiny player in the mobile phone market. Even if it hits Steve Jobs' target of 10 million iphone sales by end of 2008, that will still be less than 1% of the mobile device market. To put it into perspective, Nokia remains the world's biggest mobile handset maker with an estimated 40% of the market. Impressively Nokia has a very healthy lead over its competition. However if you look more closely, Nokia is slipping behind in the all-important Internet mobile device market. [Read]
Nokia Responds to Batphone Allegations
Remember the fancy cellphone in The Dark Knight? It was that touchscreen Nokia that Morgan Freeman was carrying around all like, "Look at me, I'm so cool, I'm Batman's boss as well as the narrator behind many popular films." Some people (OK, CrunchGear) think that it might be the Nokia Tube (we were too busy making "pew pew" noises in the seats to notice). Nokia, however, is denying it. [Read]
Sony Ericsson Feng seen in the wild
Sony Ericsson - you can't say it's accepting its falling ranking in the mobile manufacturing stakes easily. Instead, it decides to have two days within a month of each other when it will release approximately a million handsets. The new Feng (or W302 to give it its proper title) will be a mid- to low-end camera phone, designed for those who want a stylish-looking device but don't give a jot about functionality. [Read]
Samsung takes Sony Ericsson's 8 megapixel challenge, and raises ...
The problem with making an announcement in the mobile phone world is that you instantly make the knowledge available for rivals to outdo you in the spec stakes. Sony Ericsson must be feeling a bit worried at the moment, after seeing these leaked photos of an imminent Samsung phone, also packing an 8 megapixel punch. But there's more. Like the C905, this phone features HSDPA, WiFi and a Xenon flash. But unlike the C905, this Samsung phone, dubbed the i8510, will pack in 16GB of internal storage - useful if you're taking photos with an 8 megapixel sensor. [Read]
Hot heads make Nokia ears burn
Users of Nokia's 6120 Classic handset report that when used for more than five minutes the handset gets so hot that calls must be terminated or the user must switch the handset from ear to ear to dissipate the heat. Environmental consultant Tim Phillips purchased his Nokia 6120 Classic from Telstra as part of a 24-month plan, but mere minutes into his first conversation, he noticed the earpiece would quickly rise in temperature. Meet The Sony Ericsson C702
The C902 is fantastic, although it doesn't sync with my iMac. The C702, on the other hand, is proving to be the Joker to my Batman; the EU to my Microsoft; the Creative Zen to my iPod... that's right - it has become my nemesis. It's not that it's a bad phone. In fact, I'm 100 percent positive that it's a very good phone. But I can't test it to find out. You see, the C702 is designed for rugged use, being both splash and dust resistant. You can see that from the moment you look at the phone. The back casing has a little lock that you need to turn in order to open it up. [Read]
Photos: Hands-on with the Sony Ericsson W760i
It's a pretty high-end Walkman camera phone, featuring a 3.2-megapixel camera, quad-band compatibility, 3G and HSDPA data connectivity, stereo Bluetooth, GPS navigation, integrated RSS feed reader, a super-crisp 240x320-pixel screen and a 40MB internal memory, which is expandable with Memory Stick Micro (M2) cards. We've loved using this handset -- the keypad is extremely pleasant to use, the slick menus make browsing and using music, photos and video a delight, and the camera takes terrific pictures, though we would have liked a xenon flash. Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot
We recently had a chance to play with the Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot cell phone, and we were extremely impressed. The C905 Cyber-shot also sports WiFi and a built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support. The phone can use the GPS to automatically geotag your photos with the shooting location. TV-out support should make it easy to share your photos with others, as well. [Read]
